The invention relates to an apparatus for dispensing a desired amount of liquid to be consumed from a bag-in-box reservoir which is provided with a sealable outflow orifice located near its bottom. The apparatus comprises a flexible dispensing hose which can be connected to the outflow orifice, and means for shutting off the dispensing hose. The means for shutting off the dispensing hose are preferably in the form of a clamp. The length and the diameter of the dispensing hose are chosen so as to ensure an optimum outflow velocity.
