This device is characterised in that the porous material consists of a fibrous microporous body (3) in which the interfibre spaces are in communication with one another, the porosity of the fibrous microporous body (3) being at least equal to 50 %, this device comprising: - means for feeding (13) water to the fibrous microporous body (3) to make the water to be demineralised percolate exclusively through the latter, - means for heating the fibrous microporous body (3) capable of maintaining the latter at a temperature of at least 60 DEG C, - means (21) capable of collecting the demineralised water after its percolation. <IMAGE>
