1. Mobile base for operating tables, having wheels which enable the table to be moved without the need to use large force, and having means to immobilize it relative to the floor in a selected place, characterized in that it is built from a nearly rectangular plate (1) which has holes (2, 3) positioned close to the corners and symmetrically with respect to the lengthwise axis of symmetry of the base, where one pair of holes (2) have a nearly rectangular shape with the length much greater than the width, while the other two holes (3) are round, and on both side of each of the lengthened holes (2), fastened to the base plate (1), are mountings (6) with bearings supporting fixed-direction wheels (4), while close to the round holes, fastened to the base plate (1), are yokes (7) shaped as angle sections whose vertical parts are fixed at the lower end to the base plate (1), while the ends of the horizontal part of each yoke (7), situated above the round holes (3), are attached in turn to guides (8) in the form of sleeves, in which, mounted slidably and pressed by coil springs (9), are pushers (10), terminating below in feet (11) which, in the blocked position, are pressed onto the floor, while in the horizontal part of each yoke (7), supported on bearings, are the turning plates (14) of caster wheels (5), which are supported on bearings on horizontal axles (15) mounted in the turning plates (14), while in the upper part of the guides (8)...<IMAGE>
