Method of obtaining new arylhydrazo cation dyes with general formula 1, where R denotes a hydrogen or chlorine atom or methyl or methoxy group, characterized in that 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-10-methylacridine methylsulphate is acted on, in aqueous solution with an excess of sodium carbonate, by a compound with general formula 2, where R has the meaning given above, after which the obtained azo compound with general formula 3, where R has the meaning given above, is acted on by dilute hydrochloric acid.<IMAGE>
