Method of obtaining new cation dyes derived from 5-arylazo-2,6-diamine-4-pyrimidinol, with general formula [BH]<+>Cl<->, where [BH]<+> denotes a cation with general formula 1, where R denotes a hydrogen atom or methoxy group, and R' denotes a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a hydroxy, nitro, methyl, methoxy, ethoxy, phenylazo or acetylamine group, characterized in that aromatic diazo amine of general formula 2, where the symbols have the meanings given above, is combined with 2,6-diamine-4-pyrimidinol dissolved in an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium acetate, where the final pH of the mixture is 7, and the evolved free base of the product of combination is formed into a salt.<IMAGE>
