摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve the opening rate of the picture elements of the active matrix type liquid crystal display device by improving the structure of charge holding capacities. CONSTITUTION:The active matrix type display device has a structure provided with nonlinear elements 1 connected to picture element electrodes 2a arranged in a matrix form as liquid crystal driving elements on a substrate. Capacity electrodes 3a facing each other via insulating films along the shielded peripheral parts enclosing exposed central parts 9 of the respective picture element electrodes 2a are provided on the substrate. The cumulative capacitors for charge holding are formed of these capacity electrodes 3a and the peripheral parts of the picture element electrodes 2a. Since the central parts 9 of the picture element electrode are blanked to a window frame shape along the capacity electrodes 3a, the high opening rate is obtd.</p>
