PURPOSE:To shorten an arrangement modification time resultant from model change by providing a board support which supports a board only at the position at which a mounting head ascends and descends and its peripheral position and a means which interlocks this board support with an up and down motion of the mounting head. CONSTITUTION:After having started to move an XY table 1 so as to force the mounting position of an electronic component on a board fixed on the XY table to be located directly under a mounting head 2, it is arranged that the mounting head 2 descend on the way of its transfer motion while a support pin 3 start its ascending motion. After having ended the positioning of the board, the mounting head 2 is further descended while the support pin 3 is further ascended, thereby engine the ascending motion of the support pin 3 directly prior to mounting the electronic component by the mounting head 2. Then, after having mounted the electronic component, the mounting head 2 starts its ascending motion while the support pin 3 starts its descending motion. When they have ascended and descended by a specified amount, it is started so that the board may be positioned at a subsequent component mounting position by means of the XY table 1. The above operations are repeated. |
