PURPOSE: To predict a radio channel subjected to fading. CONSTITUTION: A signal received via a radio channel is sampled to obtain a digital signal (y(n)), from which a channel prediction signal (h(n/(n-L)) is generated by using known synchronous sequence, and a derivative prediction signal is generated, at least for a first differentiation time in the channel prediction signal. A Viterbi analyzer (VIT) is used to decide a symbol (d(n-L)) from the channel prediction signal, a differentiation time of the channel prediction signal (h(n/(n-L)) is generated by using the symbol (d(n-L)). The channel prediction signal (h(n/(n-L)) is adapted to a radio channel by using the derivative prediction signal and the symbol (d(n-L)). The channel prediction signal (h(n/(n-L)) that changes slowly is used for a fading period changing rapidly, and the radio channel is predicted by using the derivative prediction signal that comparatively uniformly changes. |
