PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of an improper image caused by the skew of a document, to improve image quality, to eliminate a waste of form paper and to improve economy by detecting a document skew caused by an automatic document feeder and allowing an operator to recognize it. CONSTITUTION:First and second skew sensors, 67a and 67b respectively, capable of moving perpendicularly to the carrying direction are provided in the document carry path 6a of the automatic document feeder 6. Further, a message panel 8k which displays the result of the detection carried out by the skew sensors 67a and 67b is provided. Thus, the operator can immediately recognize the skew of the document D, the device is prevented from preparing an improper copy by stopping the copying operation, and the improvement in image quality and saving of form paper can be achieved. |
