CONGESTION CONTROL FOR HIGH-SPEED PACKET NETWORK

PURPOSE: To effectively utilize a communication resource of a packet exchange and trunks by allowing an exclusive trunk controller independently of a call controller to execute an operation for buffer reservation. CONSTITUTION: A packet exchange SW has at least one trunk controller 24 to execute reservation of a buffer during communication, in response to a request of burst data transmission. The operation of buffer reservation is executed by the trunk controller 24, independently of the operation of a call controller 22. Thus, the call controller 22 is released from the reservation operation. Thus, the communication resource is effectively utilized by using the exclusive trunk controller 24, independently of the call controller 22 for executing the buffer reservation.
