Floating oil are containment boom sections are provided with one or a plurality of collapsible and inflatable bladders or buoyancy chambers, extending along the upper edge of the boom section's skirt, and enclosed inside an elongated gas-impervious sleeve which is also collapsible and independently inflatable through its own inflation/deflation valve, producing dual chamber inflated buoyant flotation forming the upper edge of the boom.
