PURPOSE:To provide a paper feeding device of good controllability such that the portion of a paper feed line corresponding to a door can be opened widely so that jammed sheets can readily be removed. CONSTITUTION:A movable guide plate 135d is automatically opened from the state of being near a fixed guide plate 135c by the energizing force of a pushing plate spring 272, which is an energizing member, and to an angle such that when an upper side cover 19 serving as a door is closed the end edge portion of the cover 19 does not abut to the guide plate 135d; the movable guide plate 135d can be rotated and displaced away from the fixed guide plate 135c by control of a pressure arm 270 serving as a control member.
