The present invention provides an apparatus for hoisting or lowering article carriers to charge the baths of chemical plants, particularly galvanizing plants, the apparatus comprising a trolley movable along the plant and a lifting device which is movable vertically upwardly and downwardly from the trolley and which can be moved, due to the passage of the trolley, to a position in which its lifting elements are disposed under the supporting arms of the respective article carriers, a carrier guide mechanism for the supporting arms of the carrier disengaging from the lifting elements, the guide mechanism for the article carrier being fixedly attached to the trolley, the guide mechanism extending at least over the substantial length of the lifting/lowering stroke of the lifting device and the carrier. |
