PURPOSE:To provide the subject detergent excellent in handleability, safety and detergency, useful for e.g. automatic dishwashers, containing, as the essential ingredients, an alkali metal hydroxide and a specific builder at specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective detergent containing, as the essential ingredients, (A) 3-60wt.% of an alkali metal hydroxide such as sodium hydroxide and (B) 1-50wt.% of a builder consisting of a compound of the formula [n is 1-100; R is p A-COOM plus (n+2-p) H; p is 2 to (n+2); A is 1-6C alkylene or polyoxyalkylene; M is H, alkali (alkaline earth) metal, etc.]. |
