An acoustic and/or optical alarm-producing receiver (6) in the ordinary motor vehicle (2) picks up a signal (5) sent from the approaching emergency vehicle by means of a transmitter (3) in a direction forward over a predetermined angle area (a) on each side in the direction of travel. The signal (5) is transmitted in at least two effect stages, of which the first stage has a range at a first predetermined distance and the second stage has a range at a second predetermined distance which is pref. double the first distance. The receiver (6) can emit different length alarms dependent upon the emergency vehicle (1) distance from the vehicle (2) in front. |
