<p>PURPOSE:To solve that a tape counter is stopped at the time of running on the unrecorded part of a magnetic tape and to acculately operate the tape counter even at the time of running on the unrecorded part in a magnetic recording and reproducing device used for recording and reproducing the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a counter 24 counting the control signal 10a of the magnetic tape 1 regenerated from a control head 4 and a period detection part 22 detecting the period of the capstan FG signal 9a of a frequency generator 8 attached on a capstan motor 5. The output of the counter 24 is converted to time data 25a by a second operation part 25 at the time of running on the recorded part of the magnetic tape, and the output of the period detection part 22 is converted to the time data 23a by a first operation part 23 at the time of running on the unrecorded part, and a tape running time is obtained. The output is selected by a data selection part 26 in accordance with the running condition of the recorded part and the unrecorded part of the magnetic tape 1 and tape count data is displayed on a data display part 28.</p> |
