WAVEGUIDE TYPE OPTICAL DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the waveguide type optical device which can prevent the drop of a characteristic impedance by suppressing an increase in electrostatic capacity, decreases the propagation losses of microwaves and improve transmission characteristics and is simple in electrode shape. CONSTITUTION:This optical device of the waveguide type is constituted by forming optical waveguides on a substrate 1 having an electrostatic effect and forming progressive wave electrodes for controlling the light passing the optical waveguides on the substrate. A terminal part 6 of a signal electrode 3s of the above-mentioned device is led out by having an angle with the signal electrode 3s and a grounding electrode 3e is disposed only on the outer side of the signal electrode 3s and the bent part 7 between the signal electrode 3s and the terminal part 6.
