<p>1501556 Preparing vaccines CUTTER LABORATORIES INC 9 April 1976 [12 May 1975] 14632/76 Heading A5B [Also in Division C6] A diploid foetal canine lung cell strain ATCC No. CL-175, economically suitable for the propagation of viruses in the production of vaccines, has cells which are fibroblast-like, are free from yeast, bacteria and fungi, are non-tumorigenic and non-oncogenic, and have a (canine) chromosome number of 78. The novel cell strain is produced from embryonic canine lung tissue. Examples are directed to the propagation of the following viruses on the cells of the novel strain: rabies, parainfluenza, canine distemper, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and bluetongue, respectively. Vaccines may be prepared from the harvested viruses by conventional procedures.</p> |
