PURPOSE:To provide a balloon outside diameter adjusting tool for expansion catheter which can largely expand the squeezed part, insufficiently expanded, or other existing new squeezed part, larger than the outside diameter of the balloon without replacing the expansion catheter. CONSTITUTION:A tool 11 for adjusting the outside diameter of a balloon 3 installed at the top edge part of the shaft 2 of an expansion catheter 1 for blood vessel formation operation is equipped with a short pipe shaped adjusting tool body 12 which can freely expand and contract and is installed in slidable manner along the shaft 2 and a linear strip body 13 for the shift of the adjusting tool body whose one edge is connected with the adjusting tool body 12 on the outer periphery of the shaft 2. The adjusting tool body 12 shifts to the outer periphery of the contracted balloon 3 and is expanded by the expansion of the balloon 3. Accordingly, the need of the troublesome replacement of an expansion catheter 1 is obviated, and the sick money can be reduced. Further, since the adjusting tool body 12 is fitted on the shaft 2 in simple manner, the operation performance of the expansion catheter 1 is not deteriorated, and the need of the new operation technique and experience is obviated. |
