PURPOSE: To provide the integrated electrooptic modulator which is improved in linearlity. CONSTITUTION: A Y-shaped branch type 1st interferometer modulator 2 and a coupler structure type 2nd interferometer modulator 26 are cascaded, the levels of DC bias voltages applied to the 1st and 2nd interferometer modulators 2 and 26 are so adjusted as to improve the linearlity of a modulated output light signal P(t), and the constitution of the input and output coupler patterns of the 2nd interferometer modulator 26 is so predetermined as to contribute to the improvement of the linearlity of the output signal P(t). |
