The device has a chargeable insulated refrigerant store. A cooling volume sufficient to cover demand, is extracted from the store via a heat exchanger process, and used to lower the temperature in the vehicle interior. The refrigerant store is formed as a tank (15) for liquefied gas, with associated cold transfer device (17), which has a cold-emitting section (18). The surface area (20) taking-in cold, is size-adjustable for adaptation to cold demand, or may be moved to a different distance to the cold-emitting section. A cold transfer medium with low solidification point is used. This is moved by a pump in a circuit, which contains the cold exchanger of the plant. USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicle interior cooling device is of small size and large capacity, can be connected to conventional components.
