At least two seals (1,2) are spaced in succession and act in the same direction for different temperature ranges. The seals for the higher temperatures are set nearer the chamber to be sealed than those for the lower temperatures. The higher temp. seals are for up to 150 deg. C and the lower temp. seals are for down to minus 100 deg. C. The seals can seal a pressure of about 200 bar of hydraulic fluid such as engine oil. The sealing surfaces are connected by a non-return valve (3) to the chamber to be sealed. USE/ADVANTAGE - For the hydraulic drive of servo steering systems. Compact economical design.
