PURPOSE:To obtain an image point always stably on a subject even if an irradiation field is converged or even with an image having many direct radiation parts in the method for determining the image point within a subject image. CONSTITUTION:An image signal SQ is obtd. from the respective picture elements on a stimulable phosphor sheet 11 on which the subject image is recorded. This image signal SQ is binarized by the prescribed threshold value. An approximately rectangular region 14 enclosing all the picture elements having the value of the image signal SQ larger than the prescribed threshold value is set on the stimulable phosphor sheet 11 and the centroid of the subject image is determined by weighting the corresponding picture elements by the inverse number of the image signal SQ corresponding to the respective picture elements within this region 14. |
