PURPOSE:To restrict the area, which hinders the reaction of an electrode, at minimum, and improve the performance, and simplify the manufacturing process by providing a spherical projection on one surface of a separator for lead-acid battery using powder body as the electrolyte holding material. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a separator substrate 1 is coated with the fused thermoplastic polypropylene resin at predetermined positions with the printing technique or the stamping such as pattern printing and transference to form the adhesive material 11, and spherical bodies 4 are adhered thereto. At this stage, the area of the adhesive material 11, with which the substrate 1 is coated, is made minimum to reduce the dispersion of fixing positions of the spherical bodies 4. As the material for the spherical body 4, the material, from which the harmful material is not eluted in the case where it is used for a lead-acid battery as same as the adhesive material 11 and which has the excellent acid resistance and the excellent oxidation resistance and which assembles a battery and which has a hardness necessary for holding between a positive electrode and a negative electrode constantly, is used, and for example, the material obtained by performing the spherical processing to the polypropylene resin and the foaming resin and inorganic powder body can be used. Or, a hollow spherical body can be used. |
