PURPOSE:To speedily find a current position on a map and to utilize a map book put on a market by displaying a map book number, a page number, and a frame number which are selected and visually displaying the position corresponding to the frame. CONSTITUTION:A route guiding device 12 is equipped with an LCD display unit as a display and is so constituted as to calculate the current position from information from sensors 16 and 17 and an antenna 11 and then display the block number, page number, and frame number of the map book corresponding to the current position, a travel track in the frame, etc. A sheet 34 formed of a transparent plate of size corresponding to the frame is used while putting on the map of the map book 33. On this sheet 34, longitudinal and lateral lines which further sections the frame are printed. A user prepares the map book having the number displayed on the display of the route guiding device 12, opens the displayed pages, and puts the sheet 34 on the displayed frame number to make a judgement by aligning points on the map with the display screen. |
