PURPOSE:To take an excellent copy by providing a line marker on the external surface of the conveyor belt of an original supply device nearly in parallel to an original feed direction, and detecting a signal output corresponding to the quantity of reflected light transmitted through contact glass. CONSTITUTION:A light source 21 and reflecting mirrors 22-24 are moved as shown by an arrow A to expose an original D successively. Only the original D shields the line marker 62 and this part is detected to know the front end of the original D. The output signal of a sensor 51 provided right under the line marker 62 is applied to a control part 52 and a register roller 41 is operated with its output. The control part 52 inputs the output signal of the sensor 51 to decide whether the input signal increases abruptly or not, and when so, a decision making circuit 53 outputs a start signal. Consequently, the front end position of the original is detected automatically to take an excellent copy. |
