PURPOSE:To utilize energy effectively by utilizing furnace-wall cooling air, which cools a furnace wall and temperature thereof is elevated, as air for combustion. CONSTITUTION:A composite material furnace wall 8 is partially removed from the inside of a furnace in an air-cooled structure wall 4, an air-cooled wall 9 consisting of air-cooled material brick is stretched and formed at the furnace inside of the removed section while an air-cooled chamber 11 is shaped between the casing 10 of the furnace and the air-cooled wall 9, and the furnace-wall cooling air is utilized as air for combustion. The furnace-wall cooling air introduced into the air-cooled chamber 11 from a storage pit 2 cools the furnace wall here while its temperature is elevated, mixed with air from a bypass pipe 13 and supplied into the furnace. Accordingly, trouble being accompanied by the use of an air preheater is not generated. |
