The amplitude limiter (7) switches the polarity of its output signal when the f.m. video signal at its input exceeds a threshold value. The output of the amplitude limiter is coupled to a delay stage (8) of delay period, T, of an order of a quarter of the carrier period of the f.m. video signal. The limiter output signal is also fed to a low-pass stage (12) of which the output signal forms a threshold value for the amplitude limiter.
