Amidinonaphthyl furancarboxylate derivatives of the formula I I wherein A is a single bond or A denotes an alkenylphenyl group, alkylphenyl group, phenylalkenyl group, phenylalkyl group, phenyl group, lower alkyl or lower alkenyl group which may have a side chain, provided that the side chain may form a ring or the side chain may have a ring, cyclohexyl group or lower-alkylcarbamoyl-lower-alkyl group and R denotes a hydroxyl group, lower alkoxy group which may have a side chain, phenyl-lower-alkoxy group, -OA1(OH)2, amino group, or , and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are novel compounds and useful as pharmaceuticals.
