PURPOSE:To obtain an electro-plated wire having a satisfactorily polished surface, by constituting a polishing device with a plurality of drive buff-polishing rolls and wire guides reciprocating in the direction parallel with the shafts of these rolls so that the outer periphery of the wire is uniformly polished. CONSTITUTION:In a device for burnishing and polishing the outer surfaces of a plurality of electro-plated wires laid in rows, a plurality of plated wires 1 are fed through guide rolls 9 respectively, to a plurality of buff-polishing rolls 10 which are used commonly for the plurality of wires. These rolls 10 are arranged vertically-alternately in a zigzag arrangement in the direction of travelling of the wires 1, and therefore, the electro-plated wires 1 are arranged to be contacted to the buff vertically-alternately. Further, the rolls 10 are driven to rotate in the direction of travelling of the wires 1 or the counterdirection thereof. Further more, the plurality of guide rolls 9 are reciprocated in the direction of the arrow 11 by driving a cam, within a range in which the extreme side wires 10 do not come-off from the rolls 10. Thus, the outer periphery of each wire 1 is uniformly polished, and therefore the wires 10 having uniformly and satisfactorily polished surfaces may be obtained. |
