PURPOSE:To improve thermal responsiveness and color development sensitivity by making a heat sensitive recording material contain a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording material is made to contain a dye precursor which is usually colorless or a light color and an electron receptive (color developer) which is made to perform color development of the dye precursor by reacting at the time of heating. Furthermore, a shown by a formula I (hereupon, R<1>, R<2>, R<3> represent a hydrogen atom or a low alkyl R<4>, R<5>, R<6> represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group or an aryl group or a cycloalkyl group or an alkoxy group or a halogen atom or an aralkyl group or an aryl group or an acyl group or a formyl group or a nitro group or a cyano group, X represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom which may be identical with or different from each other, or the R<4>, R<5>, R<6> may form a naphthalene ring by condensing) is contained in heat-sensitive recording material.
