PURPOSE: To obtain a freezing cylinder promptly at a lower cost without welding by a method wherein a helical groove is formed on an outer wall surface of a cylindrical steel sleeve to wind a flat body of annealed mild steel along the groove in a screw-thread fashion, and a second cylindrical steel sleeve is shrink- fitted on the crests of the thread. CONSTITUTION: A freezing cylinder 1 of an ice cream making machine has one stainless steel pipe 101 with a circular flange 201 welded on the outer surface thereof 101 near the end part thereof and a flat strip made of mild steel 2 heat treated by annealing or the like is wound along a helical groove 301 formed almost over the overall length in a screw-thread fashion. A heated tubular steel linear 4 is integrally assembled by shrink-fitting on a steel pipe 101 and worked to form an airtight helical path with the steel pipe 101. One end of the linear 4 is welded on a flange 201 while the other end is closed by a ring 5. A cover 8 is welded at the rear end part of the cylinder 1. |
