PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst system to remove calcium from raw material feeding hydrocarbon having at least 1 ppm oil-soluble calcium. CONSTITUTION: This catalyst system is obtained including a catalyst particle comprising GROUP VIII metals of not more than 10 wt.% selected from a group composed of Ni and Co for removing oil-soluble calcium from raw material feed on a silica support having a mean pore diameter larger than 150Åand surface area smaller than about 250 m<2> /g.
