PURPOSE:To provide a transparent plastic material containing a highly compatible specific complex compound, having glare-protecting performance to selectively suppress exclusively the light having wavelength to give dazzling feeling to human eyes and free from the problems of the lowering of mechanical strength and the dissolution of the component. CONSTITUTION:The objective transparent plastic material is composed of a polymer produced by polymerizing one or more kinds of polymerizable monomers and a polymerization initiator and contains 0.1-20wt.% of a complex compound of formula I (M is Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb or Lu; n, is 2, 3 or 4; A is ligand having a principal structure of formula II to formula IX and forming an organic metal complex containing aryl group and/or heterocyclic group or nXA groups together form a cyclic ligand). The complex compound is preferably a benzoyl acetone chelate complex of formula X, etc., produced e.g. by adding an ammoniacal aqueous solution of the corresponding complexing agent to an aqueous solution of a neutral salt of neodymium such as neodymium acetate or neodymium chloride. |
