PURPOSE: To provide the method of measuring the gap between a magnetic roll and an adjusting bar in a developing device for an electrophotographic printer. CONSTITUTION: A flexible sensor 120 consisting of a capacitance sensor and a thin metallic layer is inserted into a developer reservoir through the gap between the magnetic roll 74 and the adjusting bar 100, to measure the gap between the magnetic roll 74 and the adjusting bar 100 by the capacitance sensor placed therebetween. When the flexible sensor 120 passes through the gap between the magnetic roll 74 and the adjusting bar 100, the flexible sensor 120 is magnetically attracted to the magnetic roll 74, to be fitted on its outer periphery. |
