In a roller bearing of the type having a rotary outer race for a rolling mill, in which cylindrical rollers (5) are held between adjacent bars (3a, 3b, 4a) of cages (3, 4) in the form of combs, arranged between a rotary outer race and an inner race, the roller bearing is characterised in that the length (L1, L2) of each of the bars forming the cages is substantially equal to the length (L) of each of the cylindrical rollers. In this bearing, a lubricant may be held sufficiently between the bars of the cages and the cylindrical rollers. In addition, even if the rolling oil is used as lubricant for the bearings, or an oil mist, it is rare that oil films form insufficiently on the parts of the cylindrical rollers which come into contact with the cages. This virtually prevents any local wear of the cylindrical rollers. <IMAGE>
