PURPOSE:To accurately detect the extent of the movement of a lens, based on a signal from a rotary detecting means even if, the engagement of the gears a motor side gear trains and a moved part side gear trains, is, tentatively re leased, on a lens driving device for moving a lens to a prescribed position, on a camera, a copying unit, etc. CONSTITUTION:In the lens driving device provided with a motor 13, a gear train transmitting the rotation of the motor 13 to a part to be moved, for moving the lens, a gear box 25 holding the motor side gear train 27 of the gear train, a holding part elastically holding the gear box 25 and simultaneously, having the arrangement of the moved part side gear train 29 of the gear train, and the rotary detecting means detecting the revolving speed and rotational direction of the gear train, a constitution is adopted so that the rotary detecting means 31 is disposed on the moved part side gear train 29 of the gear train. |
