PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector assembly of an automobile or the like by which terminals can be reliably held in respective terminal receiving cavities of a housing having a large number of terminals. CONSTITUTION: In an electric connector 10, a latch receiving slot 22 is formed along rows of these cavities 26 in a housing 12 where a large number of terminal receiving cavities 26 are formed, for example, in two rows. Terminals 18 are respectively inserted into the respective terminal receiving cavities 26, and a latch member 14 having elastic latch arms 76 corresponding to the respective cavities 26 is inserted into the latch receiving slot 22, and is engaged with the respective terminals 18, and the terminals 18 are reliably held and fixed in the terminal cavities 26 of the housing 12.
