The current supplying integrated circuit (10) has two terminal pins (PIN 1,2), a constant current source (4), and switches (1-3) for the control of the current source. Pref. the two terminal pins provide voltage supply for the integrated circuit. One terminal pin (PIN 1) may be coupled to an external voltage source (UBat) via a switch (S), while to the other terminal pin (PIN 2) may be linked the consumer appliance (V) to be supplied with current. The switching arrangement for the current source control consists typically of a timer (3), an oscillator (2), and a current supply unit (1).
