A device to develop certain muscle groups and techniques for golfers includes an elongated variable resistance means (20) one end of which may be attached to an object such as a door jamb (32) and a simulated golf club (80, 81, 82), D-handle (60, 60') or waist belt (40) to permit free rotational movement of the user's limb or torso through a series of exercises. The waist belt (40) includes a D-ring (47) on its outer surface midway of the opposite ends (42, 43) of the belt (40). On the inner surface (41A) of the belt (40) opposite the D-ring (47) is a strip of rubber (48) containing pyramid shaped teeth forming a non-slip surface. In use, the belt (40) is worn with the D-ring (47) positioned generally over the golfer's naval area, with one end of the variable resistance means (20) attached to the D-ring (47). The exercises not only strengthen the muscles in the abdomen, hips and legs, but also perfect the technique which is preferred in the perfect golf swing.
|
