The invention concerns a method of removing the ink from recycled printed paper in the presence of a de-inking chemical, the recycled paper being reduced to a paper-pulp suspension and the printing-ink particles thus detached from the paper being removed in a subsequent operation, using a per se prior art method, by flotation or scrubbing. The alkoxylates of oxidized oils are used as de-inking chemicals. The invention also concerns the use of alkoxylates of oxidized oils to remove the ink from recycled printed paper.
