PURPOSE:To improve the attenuating operation of a sound signal and to require no adjusting operation and to improve the operating characteristic by adding and operating the first and the second signals of a multichannel signal and subtracting and operating the addition output and the first or the second signal. CONSTITUTION:An addition means 5 performs the addition operation of the first signal of the multichannel signal (stereo signal) supplied to an input terminal 1A and the second signal supplied to an input terminal 1B by an addition arithmetic unit 501. The phase difference between a sound signal component V1 in the input terminal 1A and a sound signal component V2 in the input terminal 1B is defined to be phi. The inversion amplifier 401 of a subtraction means 4 inverts the polarity of the output V3 of the addition means 5 and sets a gain G and the condition of an equation is set. In the output terminal 403 of an addition arithmetic unit 402, the output V6 obtained by subtracting the output V3 of the addition means 5 and the signal V1 of the input terminal 1A is produced and the influence of the phase difference phi in the output V6 is reduced to 1/4. Accordingly, the large attenuation effect to the sound signal can be obtained.
