PURPOSE:To obtain a specially patterned fabric at low cost by partial mercerization in a patterned fashion of the surface of a cellulose-based textile fabric followed by dyeing. CONSTITUTION:A paste composition containing an alkali metal hydroxide is first applied on a cellulose-based textile fabric followed by drying at 80-120 deg.C and then washing the hydroxide away. Then the resulting fabric is dyed with a substantive dye, vat dye or reactive dye, thus obtaining the objective fabric of new appearance with deep-colored and specially patterned mercerized portions. |
