PURPOSE: To provide a gas generator for an occupant protective system by an air bag for a vehicle advantageous for a weight and a cost. CONSTITUTION: The gas generator 10 comprises two cup-shaped chamber members 12, 14 which are joined to form chambers for the generator, a gas generating means, and chambers 58, 56 partitioned to contain an actuating means for actuating the generating means. The two members 12, 14 are coupled by threads which do not increase the weight of the generator. The generator 10 also comprises a filter 77 for removing particulate matter from the generating means. |
