PURPOSE:To provide the manufacture of an elastic roller, which is composed of thermoplastic polyurethane having low viscoelasticity (or hardness), by which a specular surface having extremely high accuracy can be formed and which is suitable as a roller such as a developing roller. CONSTITUTION:Hot air is blown off from a plenum chamber 5a while a roller body 2 is rotated at a constant velocity under the state, in which a hot air type apparatus 5 is brought near to the surface of the roller body 2, and the surface of the roller body 2 is heated uniformly. Accordingly, the surface of the roller body 2 is heated for 5-10sec, and the blow-off of hot air from the heating apparatus 5 is stopped while being naturally cooled for a specified time as continuing the revolution of the roller body 2. |
