A turner for cut peat comprises a frame 2 which is to be fastened, by first fastening members, to the towing point of a towing machine, such as a tractor or the like, and which is located essentially transversely in relation to the direction of travel of the towing machine k. The frame has, in the corresponding direction, a number of turning members 3 for turning cut peat, which are positioned one after another and each consist of a shaft part 4 and a turning part 5. The turning members 3 are fastened in a rotatable manner, such as by means of articulation, hinge or the like, to second fastening members 6 at a fastening point w located in the frame 2. In an operation performed by the turner for cut peat, the elongate turning part 5 of each turning member 3, the longitudinal direction of which part is at an angle which essentially deviates from the direction of travel k, is in a working position which acts on the peat lying on the surface of the field. The turner for cut peat has depositing means 7 for the cut peat, which, in the working position of the turning parts 5 of the turning members 3, deposit cut peat on the field surface according to particle size. <IMAGE>
