PURPOSE: To provide a battery which can be miniaturized and has large electric current capacity and stable size stability in the case of being subjected to heat cycles by using battery electrodes including porous and corrugated metal structure with effective porosity. CONSTITUTION: A porous and corrugated metal structure with effective porosity can be produced by impregnating wire gauze made of such as a stainless steel corrugated and shaped into a desiring size with a fine nickel powder and sintering the resultant wire gauze. Consequently, large specific surface area and high geometrical porosity at least about 80% can be obtained and battery electrodes with high discharging capacity and stable size stability can be obtained. |
