PURPOSE:To provide a traveling information collecting device to a vehicle for recording traveling road information having many branch points or the like in a sufficiently compressed data state. CONSTITUTION:Current position coordinates are found out by a current position detecting sensor 111 in a navigation system 11 and current position information is formed by a map data base 112 while collating the current position with a link number set up on a road map. The current position information based upon the link number is sent to a tachograph system 12 and stored in a specific area in a traveling information storing memory 122 as information set together with the link number. Such stored data are updated in each change of a link number and the information of a road on which a vehicle has traveled is collected as the continuation of unit information corresponding to respective link numbers.
