PURPOSE:To provide a word processor which can actuate an abbreviated conversion function with no registering operation of a user and also can prevent the conversion of the partial reading if the conversion candidate word corresponding to the partial reading has no connecting relation with the word that is inputted before the candidate word. CONSTITUTION:A reading equivalence check part 6 retrieves whether a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion dictionary 4 includes or not a word that has a part of the reading inputted through a keyboard 2. An abbreviated reading extracting part 7 extracts all words retrieved by the part 6 out of the dictionary 4. A connection property check part 8 checks only the word that is connected to the inputted word out of those extracted words based on the connection information stored in a word information storage part 5. Then the part 8 outputs only the words connected to each other to a display 10 as the conversion candidates. |
