PURPOSE:To prevent a moving picture on a monitor from being stopped by a shutter release operation in the electronic still camera provided with a moving picture function. CONSTITUTION:The camera is provided with 1st and 2nd video memories 37, 38 in which a video signal for one pattern is stored. In the case of image pickup operation, a video signal outputted from an image pickup circuit 33 is stored in the 1st video memory 37. The video signal is outputted to an electronic view finder 56 via a video signal processing circuit 54 and a D/A converter 55 and displayed as a moving picture. At shutter release, the video signal obtained by the image pickup circuit 33 is transferred to the 1st video memory 37 and transferred to the 2nd video memory 38 and stored therein. The video signal stored in the 2nd video memory 38 is recorded on a magnetic disk D after the rotation of a spindle motor 21 is made stable. |
